Established in 1858 as the Reading Athletic Club, the Reading Phillies are a double-A, minor league baseball team in the Eastern League. The team got its start as an unofficial team, until the National Agreement of 1883 organized both the major and the minor leagues into officially sanctioned teams. The Reading Actives became one of the first minor league teams, playing off and on 12 years. Today, the Reading Phillies are the double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, a title they have held since 1967. The Reading Phillies are an active, championship team, playing all of their home games at the historic First Energy Stadium, and winning league championships in 1968, 1973, 1995, and 2001. www.readingphillies.com

Originally known as Reading Municipal Memorial Stadium, FirstEnergy Stadium was built in 1951 and is the oldest baseball park in the Eastern League. The park has been through several renovation projects, adding additional seating, concessions, picnic areas, a clubhouse store, and more, all while maintaining the park’s original seating bowl, dugouts and exterior wall.
